Jess & Liam
From the moment I met Jess and Liam, it was evident that their wedding day was going to be something special. We shared a drink overlooking a beautiful sunset at East Fremantle Yacht Club. We laughed and exchanged stories, the conversation flowing effortlessly like the gentle breeze that swept across the yacht club.
With Guildhall as their chosen venue, I had no doubt that their wedding day would be nothing short of magical and a true reflection of their love and commitment to each other.
Guildhall’s historic charm and timeless elegance sets the perfect back drop for any wedding. For Jess and Liam it would hold a special space in their hearts and conveniently it is positioned down the street from their North Fremantle home.
Their wedding day turned out to be a hot one, but despite the heat, there was so much excitement in the air. I remember bumping my equipment in early that day to see Annaliese from Signature Flora Design setting up the most amazing Ceremony Arch of flowers. Despite the heat, the flowers remained vibrant and fresh the whole evening, their beauty enhancing the atmosphere and captivating the hearts of all the guests. Each piece was a testament to Annaliese's skill and artistry. From delicate petals to vibrant blossoms, every detail was carefully arranged, infusing the space with an air of romance and enchantment.
Following a beautiful ceremony held by Jess and Liam’s close friend and marriage Celebrant Vows by Hayley, guests mingled in the courtyard to celebrate Jess and Liam. The inspiring Coby Grant captivated the crowd with her soulful acoustic sounds during the ceremony and over cocktail hour.
As the sun set, guests transitioned indoors to their seats. Following Coby’s set I was in charge of the dinner music, the playlist featured a delightful selection of tunes, with plenty of Van Morrison and Elton John setting the perfect ambiance for the evening.
As the night unfolded it became abundantly clear just how loved the couple was by their guests. Laughter and lively conversation filled the air, with friends and family sharing stories of Jess and Liam's journey together.
After a delicious dinner feast, guests spilled outside eager to the dance the night away.
Jess and Liam's first dance to ‘Can't Take My Eyes Off You’ by Frankie Valli was a heart-warming performance. Their eyes sparkled with happiness and I couldn't help but feel grateful to have been a part of their special day. The dance floor came alive as Liam lifted Jess in a tender embrace, their happiness was contagious and all their guests eagerly joined in on the dance.
ABBA's ‘Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!’ kept the momentum going, but it was Liam's love for the Arctic Monkeys that truly ignited the dance floor. As the opening chords of ‘I Bet You Look Good on the Dance floor’ played through the venue, it was as if a spark had been ignited. It became clear that this was more than just a song. It was a shared experience and a core memory in the making.
At one point in the night a guest requested ‘Rhinestone Cowboy’ by Glen Campbell. I was a little hesitant as Jess and Liam weren’t huge fans of country, although at our initial catch up they did mention their friends loved it and we agreed a few songs were okay. The songs turned into a moment of pure delight as guests formed a lively dance circle, showcasing their best moves. A move that stood out was a perfectly timed roly poly which left everyone in stitches.
Among the many highlights of the evening was Liam's tribute to his mum, as they danced to ‘Go Your Own Way’ by Fleetwood Mac, her favourite artist.
Towards the end of the night guests belted out a few classic singalongs like ‘Sweet Caroline’ Neil Diamond, ‘Angels’ Robbie Williams and ‘Hey Jude’ The Beatles (which featured some more roly polys).
The grand finale came with ‘The Voice’ by John Farnham, as Jess and Liam were lifted onto the shoulders of their guests and carried around like rockstars.
Reflecting on Jess and Liam's wedding, I can't help but feel deeply honoured to have been a part of their special day. It was a celebration filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments that will be cherished for years to come.
Gorgeous snaps captured by the talented Adam Levi Browne and an incredible film produced by Chris Martin Cinematography.
