Eleanor & Anton

I don’t like to pick favourites, but Eleanor and Anton's wedding day is certainly one of them. From our very first meeting, they were warm and welcoming, and the most genuine people, we instantly formed a strong connection.

Even though they had contrasting music tastes — Eleanor being drawn to the upbeat rhythms of Pop and Rap, while Anton favoured Rock and indie anthems — their different tastes combined would create the coolest celebration.

We sorted through a playlist they had created, full of guilty pleasures and timeless classics, I knew right away that their day would be a blast.

We had a great time discussing their music and ideas, they mentioned that they were thinking of using M83’s ‘Outro’ as their aisle song for the ceremony, which was an immediate yes from me. I could already picture the dramatic build-up as Eleanor made her way down the aisle.

They also had the great idea to incorporate speech intros songs. When deciding the music for the Father of the Groom’s speech, we talked about how Anton’s dad’s favourite band is Metallica. Quickly after ‘Master of Puppets’ was the chosen track for his speech intro and on the night this turned out to be an epic choice that set the perfect tone for the moment.

Eleanor and Anton assembled an A-team of wedding suppliers who brought their vision to life. Perth's pocket rocket celebrant, Dilhari, delivered a truly unforgettable ceremony with her vibrant presence. Every special detail of the day was snapped by the talented Peggy Sass, whose photography perfectly captured the magic of the celebration. Elena from StoryStory masterfully documented every moment on video, skilfully weaving together the events with a thoughtful eye for detail. A special mention must be given to Sir Botanical, whose gorgeous pastel flower arrangements transformed the space into a floral wonderland. Each detail contributed to making the day so memorable. (Go Team!)

The wedding was held at the one and only Guildhall during the March long weekend, and despite the typically warm temperatures, the good vibes were at an all-time high. During cocktail hour, I had the pleasure of meeting some lovely guests, including Eleanor and Anton’s adorable son, Elias, who happily bopped to the music before before being tucked in for the night. I also ran into a familiar face — an awesome MC, Matthew, who I have previously been teamed with when DJing some corporate events. It was great to reconnect and reminisce about those past events, it brought back so many good memories from those nights.

The evening flowed seamlessly, with delicious food and drinks keeping the celebration lively. As the night unfolded, a fun and creative touch was added to the celebration — face gems. I was among the first to have the sparkles applied, and it instantly elevated the festive mood. The idea quickly caught on, and soon, every guest had their own set of glittering gems. It added a bit of fun to an already incredible atmosphere and I believe it should be a trend at more weddings.

After a series of heartfelt speeches that left many in tears of laughter, it was time for the cake cut. Eleanor and Anton’s wedding cake was a three-tier masterpiece baked with love by one of their talented friends for an extra special touch. It was truly a standout feature of the wedding.

The night continued with the couple's first dance, a beautiful moment as Eleanor and Anton swayed to the tune of John Mayer’s cover of “XO.” The song choice was perfect, and as the couple glided across the floor whilst their guests cheered them on with enthusiasm. Shortly after friends and family were welcomed to join in, turning the intimate dance into a shared celebration of love. Following this the party truly began to take off. The energy was electric with everyone on their feet dancing and embracing the festivities.

Just when it seemed the night couldn’t get any better, Eleanor made a surprise outfit change, emerging in a sparkling mini dress as the iconic song “Barbie Girl” played. This song was a special request, since the girls had organised a Barbie-themed bachelorette party for the bride. Eleanor danced her way into the heart of the party, it was a fitting tribute to her fun-loving nature and a reminder of the strong bond she shares with her girlfriends.

The celebration continued late into the night and the Photo Booth props like quirky hats and sunnies began to make their way onto the dance floor. The fun accessories added a burst of colour to the dance floor, and all the guests looked effortlessly stylish as they rocked the fun props.

If I had the chance to relive this night, I would do so a hundred times over without hesitation. I could go on detailing all the special moments that made the night unforgettable, but it was one of those experiences that words can’t fully capture.

Eleanor and Anton, thank you for including me in such an intimate and meaningful celebration. Watching your love story come to life through the heartfelt moments with your beautiful family, along with the great music and dancing, was truly the best.

If I wasn’t already smitten with you both from our initial meeting, you completely stole my heart on your wedding day. I feel so lucky to have been a part of your celebrations.

xoxo Katie
