Clare & Jordan
Clare and Jordan are yet another beautiful couple I have been fortunate enough to become friends with through the amazing MVMT Hub O’Connor community.
With Clare’s Italian Family and Jordan’s Greek Family their wedding was set to be one of my biggest weddings ever with roughly 200 guests in attendance. Come there wedding day it was so lovely to see the families join together and embrace each other's traditions, from the heartfelt speeches to the energetic dancing.
Their ceremony took place at Star of the Sea in Cottesloe, and although I was occupied with setting up at the Reception venue, I heard it was a truly spectacular event. The service included touching readings and a memorable moment when Jordan's brother, a professional singer, performed a song dedicated to the couple.
In between the Ceremony and Reception, guests had a few hours to either return home and freshen up or head directly into Fremantle for some pre-reception drinks. This break gave everyone plenty of time to unwind and socialise before the evening festivities began.
Clare and Jordan chose the PS Art Space in the heart of Fremantle for their wedding Reception. The warehouse, initially a blank canvas, was beautifully transformed into a stunning space by Little Bohemia. The bold and beautiful colour palette of the flowers created an intimate and magical atmosphere in the venue. The standout feature of the room was the breathtaking 360-degree hanging floral installation.
Jordan's passion for music was evident as he curated some incredible playlists to help me capture their vibe. The selection was fun, energetic, and with the right DJ mix was guaranteed to get guests on the dance floor.
As you can see from the few snaps shared from ‘The Beautiful Strange’ gallery below, Clare and Jordan radiated an effortless blend of coolness and style throughout their day. These two are incredibly photogenic, making it nearly impossible to choose a favourite shot. One of mine is when they took a break to snack on lollies for a quick sugar hit, this playful, candid moment perfectly captures their fun-loving nature and added a sweet touch to their stylish celebration.
Clare and Jordan made a grand entrance into the reception, setting the vibe with "Hypnotize" by The Notorious B.I.G. playing in the background. The room buzzed with excitement as they made their way to their seats, both having switched to comfortable sneakers, ready to dance the night away. Their choice of song and footwear perfectly reflected their fun-loving nature.
Even though the couple chose a sit-down dinner, I kept the music upbeat and fun. At one point, I checked in with Jordan to let him know I had to turn the music down slightly for an older guest seated near the dance floor. His response made me laugh: 'Tell them, if it’s too loud, you’re too old.'
Following a delicious feast and touching speeches from their lovely mothers and siblings, Clare and Jordan cut their cake to the upbeat tune of "September" by Earth, Wind & Fire, one of my all-time favourites. Their wedding cake was surrounded by an impressive dessert table filled with an array of delicious Greek and Italian treats.
Every wedding has its own special highlights, but Clare and Jordan's first dance was truly magical. Guests made their way to the dance floor, creating a sea of smiles and excitement. The energy in the room was palpable as everyone prepared to join in the celebration, ready to dance the night away.
The lights dimmed slightly, casting a warm, intimate glow as Clare and Jordan stepped forward, hand in hand, ready to take their first dance as husband and wife.
Clare and Jordan didn't choose their first dance song by chance. The song they chose, "Tiny Dancer" by Elton John was meaningful to them after an impromptu dance they shared at a friend's house.
They shared with me the story of how Jordan had reached out and taken Clare’s hand, drawing her into the magic of the moment. As they swayed to the piano's gentle melody, Clare felt a flood of emotions, with the stress of wedding planning, work, and life dissolving around them. As the chorus of Tiny Dancer filled the air, Clare’s eyes filled with happy tears. In Jordan’s arms, she felt safe, treasured, and deeply loved.
This dance was far more than just a routine - it was a reminder of why they are so perfect for each other.
The song chosen after the first dance was a heartfelt tribute to Clare’s late sister, Lucy. As Beyoncé's 'Halo' played through the speakers, guests joined in the singing, fully immersing themselves in the emotional tribute. This moment created a deeply moving and unforgettable experience, honouring Lucy’s life and the love she had shared with everyone.
The crowd grew larger and more vibrant from that point on. As the tune of 'Zorba the Greek' filled the room, the energy soared. Guests gathered on the dance floor forming a circle in anticipation of the famous dance. To add to the festivities, shots of Ouzo and Limoncello were circulated, celebrating both their Italian and Greek heritage.
Another standout moment of the night was when Jordan and his close friend performed a song they used to sing together at 'Hip Hop Kara-Yo!-ke.' Their song was ‘Slow Jamz’ by Twista, Kanye West, and Jamie Foxx. I handed each of them a wireless mic, and they flawlessly rapped over the karaoke version. Clare was on the sidelines enthusiastically cheering them on.
The rest of the celebration was nothing short of magical, overflowing with laughter, countless shots, and so much love surrounding Clare and Jordan. Their relationship is a shining example of what true partnership looks like, filled with genuine affection and mutual respect. I feel deeply grateful to have been a part of such a special occasion and to have witnessed their love story unfold in such a beautiful and inspiring way. (Love you both!)
